The Arts Council of Windham County (ACWC) is an all volunteer organization that has worked to strengthen the environment for artists and arts organizations in the area for 36 years. Its mission is  “To strengthen the environment for artists and arts organizations in Windham County.”

The activities of ACWC fall under these three goals:
To advocate for the arts to move more to the center of community life
Current projects include

1. 1. Student Art Month exhibits and activities throughout the county
2. 2. Participation in the Arts and Economic Prosperity IV project

To link cultural organizations, individual artists, and the community more
Current projects include

1. 1. Collaborate in the creation of a tourism-based website where the arts are central
2. 2. Quarterly (at least) meetings on current arts and culture topics
3. 3. Promote CultureCount database

To nurture startup ideas and organizations
Current projects include

1. 1. Provide 501(c)(3) agency
2. 2. Provide training and advice for new ventures
3. 3. Collaborate with Vermont Arts Council for Breaking into Business and other services
